    New Member with Tapping Lifters

    Hi, I've got a '94 Cutlass Supreme Convertible with the DOHC. I love it, 73k and runs perfect--except the lifters tap. It shouldn't be the oil, I'm running 100% synthetic so I don't think that's the problem, what are your suggestions? TIA

    Nice car!

    I've got the tapping to quiet down a lot using the GM engine oil supplement for one or two changes.

    If you look on the back of the bottle you'll see that valve train/lifter noise is one of the things its designed to eliminate or help....

        What oil your running 10w30 or 5w30? When I ran 5w it was s anoying I changed my oil back befor 100 miles.

        96 Z34 3.4 SC DOHC Getrag, 284 5sd manual transmission, stage 3spec clutch, 97 engine, 97 pcm, S3 intercooler 1 of 1 Roots SC LQ1 in the world 8.5 psi.

          Are you sure it isn't the condition that GM provided a service bulletin and a parts kit to correct?
