  • Need some DOHC Parts....

Well, the motor swap is progressing....although some of my friends are questioning my sanity. I think some people on this board are too

In any case.....I am dropping a 96 DOHC motor (with a 97 dress) into my 95 Lumina that had a 3100. Whew!

Anyhow, I have upgraded the harness and PCM, got all the power steering and heater lines, and all the other good stuff. I also have bought a new 4T65E trans to go along with the 97 setup....

So, now, before I drop this puppy in....I need two more parts that I am having a hell of a time finding. I'd post this in the FS section, but it is pretty DOHC specific....

I need these things.....any help appreciated:

    - Downpipe from a 96 or 97. I need the pipe from the manifold to the cat.....no cat needed. Apparently this part is different than the 3100 one....

    - Transmission dipstick/tube. Yeah, who knew. The tube from my 3100 runs right through where the exhaust outlet is on the DOHC motor.

Sigh....stupid little parts, but I need them to finish this up. Any help REALLY REALLY appreciated!

    Thanks!

    Larry

a little help for you, the downpipe for all the dohc's will work but you'd just have to have a bung installed for the downstream 02 sensor.

Thanks! I guess let me amend this.....I need a DOHC downpipe Anybody have a spare they can part with? I'm ditching the rear O2, so I don't have to sweat the bung.... Actually, I just need the headpipe before the cat....so even better. Anyone have an old one laying around? Even if it was cut out of a car.... ???

There called O2 emulators I think. It's a little device you plug into the harness and it makes the PCM think that the O2 is reading all good.

Something like this, but I have no clue if this will work.

For forty dollars, you could install a REAL O2 sensor.

this would be true if all converters were created equal...

Soooo......any chance you would be willing to sell me that 96 downpipe? I couldnt find a 96/97 in the boneyard.....so I hacked one off a 95. It *looks* like it might work, but after looking at that 96 one you have....Im not so sure...

                      If I ask nice...pretty please????
