With the 282 and 3.61 gears you should easily hit 70 MPH in 2nd gear!
The 3.4 has a sorry low end, now if you're 2nd gear goes to 70, you're first will be around 40. By having it at 35, you get into the powerband faster, adn the shift into 2nd will drop you less rpm that with the 4--70 shift.
The 3.4 can't have THAT sorry of a low-end... What ratio did the Quad4 W-Bodies have with the 5-speed... now THAT's no low-end!
I meant sorry compared to most cars, ie 3.1s 3400s 3800s etc. Compared to ANY other v6 GM made, the 3.4 SUCKS ass until right around 3500, where it places itself nicely right at the top of the N/A GM V6 group
I'm a little late in this thread (but then again, you would have an easier time finding Jimmy Hoffa then finding me online lately) but instead of adding wire into the VSS wire, I took off the wire loom, cut the tape and moved mine. Either way works though. IIRC, the starter wires were the Purple and Yellow wires, both being heavier gage wire on the P/N switch then the others. To this day I still haven't wired in reverse lights, or the trunk release, lol. Creature comforts. The 91 is a creature for sure, but not a pretty one at all.
