Sorry for this one guys, but I've been reading about everyone disabling their EGR systems. Is there a performance gain to this, or is it to avoid replacing the expensive useless junk GM cursed us with or both ? Just wondering.

Both, must mostly to eliminate that expensive EGR valve. At WOT, the EGR is closed anyway, which is why it could be said that there is no advantage. If you tear apart an engine after 30k of use with the EGR on, the intakes are covered in soot and the CC is filled with it and the back side of the intake valve is loaded up as well. 30k with the EGR off and the intakes are pretty clean, the CC still has buildup but not as much, and the intake valves have no buildup (mine didnt anyway). So there is a perfomance gain from the intake valve being cleaner. However, you gotta get that crap off of there after the EGR is disabled or there is no benefit really.

Sappyse107, thanks alot for the straight answers, really appreciate it . As for my car list, thats the Z's I currently own. I've had a few other Z's, particularly an 87 Z-24 that met an untimely end, Dukes Of Hazzard style . I've also got a bunch of Jeeps and other non camaro chevs.
