  • Aftermarket ECU

Has anyone ever installed an aftermarket ECU on their 3.4 like a LINK or a HALTECH. Does any one know if there is a crank position sensor and cam position sensor and what the timing on them are. I'm trying to put this engine in a dune buggy but i'm having trouble with a Link ECU I have and they want to know the crank timing and if it has a cam sensor and it's timing. Do any other motors use the same timing? Any thing will help

If I remember correctly, the MegaSquirt guys have a great writeup on our vehicles. The following is assuming that I remember things correctly. There are two crank position sensors. One is a 24x and the other is a 7x (6 for each cylinder plus one reference). There is also a cam position sensor on some of the 3.4's (depends on model year) IIRC, it's a single tooth. The sensors are a mix of hall and magnetic.
