  • Coolant temperature sensor

    Does anyone know where the coolant temperature sensor is on the Lumina Z34. I have looked forever and I have not found an answer yet, please help.

    its in the lower intake manifold

    here is a pic of it... sorry dont remember who i got the original pic from.

      The pic in the post by z34phoenic is the coolant temp sensor for the ECM.

      Here is a pic of the coolant temp sensor for the GAUGES. It is the green wire coming out from under the bracket on the side of the front head.

        Ok, I have a chip and it needs to connect to 2 wires that come out of the sensor, where are those. It says that I am looking for a type of plug with 2 wires coming out of it, usually black and yellow.

        P.S. no comments on the chip please, for example, that does not work or you are wasting your money.

          Where the red circle is, that is about where it is located on the engine. That pic that z34phoenix posted is the sensor you need, but the part in his picuture is upside down. Meaning the sensor is going to point towards the BACK of the engine and be pointing down.

              I just changed mine and that is the stupidest place to put it.look below the TPS and the IAC sensor its kinda at on angle hard to see though.Its tucked under there..
