  • grand prix 5 star rim question

how wide are these and how much do they weigh w/out a tire?

i think they are 16x8 b/c u can put 245/50's on them which i thought designates a 8 inch wheel.

the 16x8's are the crosslaces until 96 im pretty sure the 5 star ones are 16x7 until 96 too after that they are 16x6.5

the pic on the left is 96 and the one on the right is 97

The GP wheels have less offset to account for the body cladding. The crosslaces have more backspacing (like a Lumina, cutlass, etc) to account for the added wheel width. Does that make sense?

some of this has been said already, but the GP 5-spokes are 16x7 for all years and the xlaces are 16x8 for 89-96 gp's (there are quite a few other cars that got smaller versions and 97+ are 6.5"....and ugly, lol). both gp 5-spokes and xlaces are 25mm, as opposed to other cars having like 38mm, iirc and the 2nd gens are 43 iirc
