  • I Bought One!!!!!!

I got it cheap $500! 1996 Z-34 Monte. The guy started telling me how he took it to this gas station service center cause it stalled and they fixed the stall but the heads were way carboned up and needed to be redone, so he said ok, then they needed a "special" tool to retime the heads before setting them on the car. They couldn't get it going, so he had to take it to another shop were they didn't know what they were doing either and they got it to run but it runs like shit., She shudders just hard enough to suggest the cams are out a bit, if not 180 out bank to bank. I had a hard time keeping a straight face. I pick her up tomorrow, anyone want it? I'll take $2000 for it! HA!
PS I'm still fixing my acheiva, but swapping that DOHC 3.4 to my acheiva is real tempting......

Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

Too late. I had a 1992 Z-34 Lumina and that got me hooked which is what brought me to this site to begin with. And then Ben got into my head with cam timing on them, and then he had this store, and all you guys had all this knowledge about the particulars of 60 deg motors, and then I got REALLY into FI and forgot all about carbs, and then.....wait a minute! It's this websites fault I have a problem and I'm addicted! I billing you all for treatment and damages!!!! As of tomorrow I am checking myself into Norwalk raceway park for treatment!

I got my 96 for a little more than yours but my trans slips and it needed timing. Timing is done:P Josh told me that I can use the 97 ECM, use a 4T65, add a few wires to it, and that would be about it for the trans swap. If you want to modify yours, that is what I would do.

Cam timing is different on a 96 motor and I am not going to mess with mine. Its running pretty good with nearly perfect fueling as it is stock
