  • No start and no fuel to cylinders

I have a 94 cutlass with 3.4 that was running fine. Engine stopped while driving. I have great spark but no fuel to injectors. The fuel pump works when ignition is turned on and even when jumped. Would the crank sensor stop fuel or just spark? What's the next best guess? Thanks from KC

Without a crank sensor you wouldn't have spark. ! 94 has SFI so that means you have the sensor that reads off your harmonic balancer for the fuel injector timing. That could have come uplugged or failed. Otherwise your computer could be toast. Those are my two leading theories on it.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

Thanks, I'll quit looking at the crank sensor. I checked the MAF connections and they appear fine. Any way to check the harmonic balance sensor or computer? I tried to jump the ALDL diagnostic center and I don't have the same plugs as the Haynes manual discusses. I have 12 cavaties, not 16, but do not have a plug next to the "A" plug to jump. I have "A", "M" and one under about "D". No combination gives me any flashing lights. I also noticed today my "security" light on the dash stays on for about 5-10 seconds when I try to start the car. Any way to bypass the VATS system?

You have a 94 PCM, therefore you can not access the codes with a paperclip jumper. 94+ PCMs require a scanner to access all codes.

I checked the fittings to the sensors, made sure everything was tight going into the computer and decided the check timing belt before I bought a computer. Sure enough, the belt is chewed up and I'm following the step by step guide from another post. At least this is a straightforward mechanical problem, not something electrical that you can't see. Now if I can get the parts ordered over the holiday, I can start reassembly Friday. Thanks.
