  • few questions

Ok I have a cpl weeks hoildays coming up and I want to do a few mods so I have a cpl questions

1.) I will be installing a water temp guage and was wondering which wire you tap into to recieve the temp reading and which wire on the headlight switch you tap into so it will light when the headlights are on

2.) does anyone have step by step instructions and moving the battery to the trunk maybe some pictures too

3.) How do you disable the DRL
btw my car is a 1995 GTP

For the DRL, I think you can just unplug the DRL DIODE under the drivers side of the dash. and it will keep them from turning on. According to my 1996 service manual, that is what turns the lights on.

If you look under the drivers side of the dash, you will see a silver box with 2 connectors on the bottom. That is the EBCM (for the ABS). If you look just to the LEFT of it (as if you are sitting in the drivers seat), there is 2 boxes attached to the box that holes the EBCM. Those are for the DRL's. Locate the METAL BOX with the single connector with only 2 thick wires. One is tan, and the other is blue. Unplug that, and it should disable your DRL's.

After you unplug it, make sure your headlights still work. By disconnecing that one wire, it should make it so the DRL's do not turn on, but the automatic headlights will still work.

Not sure where the temp sensor is on the DOHC. I know I have done one before, and I think it is near the throttle body, but I am not certain on that. Someone else will have to help you with that one.

On the headlight switch for the backlighting, you tap into the GRAY wire. It is position H on the connector.

As for the engine wire, you want to tap into the coolant temp sensor for the GAUGES.

it is a single green wire. the sensor itself is screwed into the front head on the driver's side.

it is pretty close to the front engine mount.

here is a pic. It is the one with the long green wire coming out of it under the bracket for the dogbone.
