I need to find out where to get a timing belt tensioner from. all auto part stores dont have them NAPA, Carquest, Autozone, etc.. Im having problems with the belt making noises at 3,000 RPM's. I am running the car with the timming belt cover off and i can see the tensioner loosen and the belt loosenes up and vibrates on acceleration and decellaration in the 3,000 RPM range. It makes a loud chattering. If anyone can help it would be great. Oh and i also have a 92 z34 engine and wiring harness for sale. it has the 5 speed flywheel on it and its good. and i have a 94 gtp engine for sale for parts good crank,heads,carriers, ect..

You have to get the DOHC tensioner pulley from the stealership or online at gmpartsdirect.com. Aftermarket doesn't make it.
92 ASC GTP - 3.4 5sp, HUD, DIC, AQ9's
88 Fiero GTs - L32 3.4 5sp & ZZ430 5.7 SBC V8 5sp (the twins) L32 -> LQ1 swap is underway
6sp LS1 Corvette Roadster (parts getter)
'99 Expedition (tow truck)
'09 G8 (new toy)

sounds like you need the actuator not the tensioner pulley, the actuator is what keeps tension on the pulley so i would try that first.

well as long as they are tight there shouldnt be a problem, im pretty sure the torque spec is 50 ft/lbs , but im not 100% i dont torque them to spec i just do it by hand until there tight.
