  • EGR removal?

As we all well know I am in the process of building headers on my Z34. I refuse to drill into them and do all the other BS to reinstall the EGR, so I have chosen to remove it. Here is what is happening. There is a single 1/4" pipe coming out of each "primary" on the manifolds, they go inot a single 5/8" pipe, which goes into a valve. This setup is all metal. Then that pipe goes into a rubber hose. The rubber hoses go into the front passenger quarter panel and tangle into many things, like a complicated valve system thingamabobber. I want to remove the rubber lines, so do I plug off where the rubber meets into a metal which goes to the 1/4 panel, or do I leave them open?

    Thanks

Im glad you followed that, i was totally confused from the start. I pulled my AIR system from the cutlass and swapped auto lines on there.

Ok here is EXACTLY what I mean.

The lines exiting form the top of the Exhaust manifolds, they are EGR right???

I took them off of course, but they go into rubber lines that go to the front passenger 1/4 panel. now I removed the rubber lines, but do I plug off where they went into the thingy or do I leave it open?

Those are the AIR lines. Under the passenger side fender...up under the car you will see an air pump. Just unplug that piece or remove it. I removed mine. I think I set something in the computer as well so it wouldn't look for it, but its been a while so I would have to check again to make sure.

We will see if I get a SES when I get the car running again. FOr now I will remove them wihout plugging them, just leave them open.

              Thanks a lot.

One other question, on my chip you disabled the EGR right? Cuz I don't want a SES when the car notices ther eis no EGR.

              Thanks again!

You sent it back so I could turn it on, so its on again.
