install and drive. I know they fit, and im sure enough about them working to make these posts. I just want to see if there is anything better or worse about them. Im gonna have to steal jon's car for a day though I bet, cause my car needs a rear brake line and im not tearing it apart now to fix, then again when I have better parts to put backthere.
So, with SI valves and these lifters, how much power could be expected to be gained? What about these cams they are talking about? What is the gain and in what RPM range, will the car still be drivable?
No clue on the SI valves. Im going to go with some different valves if I can find them for a decent price....not 35-55 for custom like they are telling me now. The cams, no clue, i have nothing to do with the regrinds they are looking into. I know I can get some to a spec that will raise mid and top end, but hurt low end. Im not made of money so I don't have all these upgrades yet, I just researched them. The lifters will hopefully have a better bleed down rate, which will increase power. Lighter valvetrain should only help as well.
I thought that SI had valves for a reasonable price. Didn't a guy just buy a set off ebay for $200.00USD or something? That would put them at less than 10 bucks each, not 35-55. I'm confused.....
The SI valves as they come suck, and aren't worth your time. They are 8.50 each. You will need to machine them and polish them really. The ones im looking at are undercut and polished and hopefully lighter. That is why they cost more, but 35-55 is insane. Even SI are 30 each to have them do a better set, which is way too much for 24 of them.
