  • this part performance or junk???

i was browsing the net and stumbled across a part called a pcv seperator or something like that.

supposedly it removes the oil after the pcv valve be4 it enters the intake charge.

any credit to this or is it snake oil like that b&m adjustable modulator for the 4t60e??

here is a link btw: http://www.spmotorsports.com/ATCmisc...ators_oil.html

iv heard of people running diy ones.
it sort of acts as a condensor, and traps/prevents the acidic oil vapors/actual oil from entering the intake and gumming up that nice port/polish job :P

I had one on my DOHC. Well worth putting it in there as I had a lot of oil being sucked up. I had steel wool in there in place of the filter used in a water seperator. I guess you can just hook it up as it comes though. Walmart sells one much cheaper than $60.

i'm going to run mine through a catch can. my buddy did with his hyundai and while autocrossing he got alot of oil sloshing up into the pcv and that prevented it from coming into the intake tract.

I am curious about that. I have the adjustable modulator in all my cars, and I love it. I have not had a problem with it, and it fixed a slipping tranny in my original car. This is, of course, unless I am thinking of another part.

this $40 waste of plastic was nothing more than a T in the vacuum line between the modulator and the vacuum source. you turned a knob to adjust how much vacuum you let out.......JUNK!!!

Okay, that is something totally different than what I have. I have a REPLACMENT modulator. You remove the stock modulator and replace it with this one. Where the vacuum line is connected, there is an adjuster screw in there. If you tighten it, then your shifts get FIRMER, and if you loosen it, they are softer.

It has been well worth it, and it works a LOT better than the stock one, but I paid less than 40 for it. The hardest part is getting it adjusted but once you do get it right, it is worth it.
