Noise in interior

Guys, I've got a 94'GTP and when I step on the gas the engine noise is very loud from the engine compartment. Sounds like an exhaust noise but the sound comes from right behind of the steering column. Don't think it's exhaust though. But I have heard that some of these cars have very loud intakes, is this the problem?

I have no idea what you are talking about. The only thing I hear is the intake in my car. Are you sure you dont have an exhaust leak?

I don't think so, I can't smell exhaust in the engine compartment or the interior, but what is a good way to tell?

Sure its just not engine noise? Its a loud mofo, more so then most any other car that I have driven.

That's what I think. I read that the upper intake design made them howel like a "Mofo". Just looking for some body to back this up.

I second the "howling like a mofo." My car's been loud since the day I bought it stock... It's very loud now with Flowmasters and a cone intake... but if you want to quiet it down lay some dynamat or some insulator under the carpet.

I've already hosed the entire interior and trunk down with noise killer blue. Helped some but wasn't overly impressed though. Considering the price of the stuff.
