Price reduced to 275 complete, 250 bare.

Still working on a 3500 kit though it may not be as complete as I wanted since there are different setups over the years. Ill try to get the 01 3400 Grand Am setup complete and go from there. Porting and clearancing the 3500 plenum to fit is 65 bucks plus shipping. Powdercoat is another 60.

Finally got my throttle plate installed today and got the TB in (was waiting for someone to send me a stock TB for the shaft and linkage). I did notice a few minor issues with it compared to the stock one. The two surfaces for the main attachment bolts were a little bit thinner so the bolts went further in. Don't know if they'd bottom out in the UIM or not, but there's plenty of material there to drill and tap deeper. On my SC they just go thru the flange so it wasn't a problem. Also the hole for the stud that holds the throttle cable bracket on the front wasn't tapped deep enough for the stock stud to go all the way in. It was drilled deep enough so I just tapped it a little further. It also seems the hole center for the throttle shaft was moved back a tiny bit. With my stock TB, the linkage came close but just cleared the elbow on my SC outlet. With the new one the linkage just hit the elbow so I had to cut about 2mm off the outside tip to get it to clear. That probably wouldn't be a problem if mounting it on an intake mani like normal.

Really they were just minor things and easily fixable. Widening the slot in the shaft for the new plate was easy with a dremel and cutoff wheel. Only took a couple minutes to get the plate centered and adjust the throttle stop so everything worked smoothly. Really happy with it so far. I took it for a drive and only thing I noticed was a clearly audible whistle at medium-high throttle that wasn't there before. Is that normal? Maybe from air passing over the IAC intake hole?

We noticed the whistle too and have since redesigned the IAC passage. Not sure if its still there though. The whistle also went away with the use of the stock grand am air box over the K&N cone that phil was using. I figured it was the K&N filter. You could try to notch the TB near the IAC passage or round it out a bit more and see if that helps.

I have a tap here for that front mount stud so I will start tapping them a bit deeper.

Glad its working out well for you overall

Yeah, the whistle went away with the stock air box, where it was very distinct with a K&N filter. It was not annyoing by any means though.

I have been running mine for close to 3,000 miles now with out any problems.
