when are we going to see more LQ1 stuff on there, i know it takes time to get it all up and running but id really like to see more stuff in the 3.4 catagory. thanks
I could add the ported intake manifolds but thats about it right now. Id rather flowbench the heads and manifolds so I have more information up as well. I can't really say on the heads since I am still working on the pushrod heads for a boosted application (both gen 2 and 3).
It will happen in time, but I want to make sure I have the very best I can offer first.
I have some good info for gen 3 motors but it has to wait till im completely done Im working as fast as I can, trust me on that.
I have 2 types of porting for the manifolds (which I also need to update for the gen 3 intakes). Basic port matching I will do for 50 bucks an intake. In depth porting to reshape the runners on the lower is 125. Same for the plenum, reshaping up to the turn in the plenum without opening it up too much to screw with the wave pulses. You may of course have me do them at any time though I won't have flow data nor dyno results for a while (but I will get dyno results once I fix up the 95 cutlass and get a baseline). Not sure on core charges just yet, probably 50 for the lower and 100 for the plenum? I gotta see how my supply of these parts is doing.
i know this is an old post but im wondering if any progress has bees made on the proted LQ1 heads? Also, i saw someone on here who had opened the tb on a 91-95 style manifold to 70mm i belive, is there going to be anything like this avaliable in the future or mabey the possibility of getting this done, thanks.
I have to balance research with customer work. Still doing pushrod stuff, though now im more on gen 4 then gen 3 cause gen 3 is known to me now and gen 4 is too bad ass to ignore. Unfortunately, that means DOHC keeps getting pushed back.
I had to halt my 94-95 chips cause I dont have enough tables to properly tune it as well so that is the first step I have to take considering all I have for testing now are 94+.
Well that sucks, but i understand that there more demand and more profit to be made on the gen 3&4 motors. i guess my only other question is do you know anyone or any place that could do a good PnP? im very reluctant to go just anywhere and i really dont want to put the new morot in without PnP heads, it just dosnt seem woth it otherwise.
any reputable machine shop should be able to help you out that has worked on dohc heads be4. and any machine shop should be able to port your lower and at least your inlets on your plenum(although u could go with extrude honing it all but that is $$$).
Im going to have ben do the intakes (upper and lower). I am going to need the heads done and Ive heard stories of some companies really messing it up. plus i know he would be the one to go to for this specific applaction.
