  • Intake Manifolds: DOHC?

I was wondering if you're working on / planning to sell ported and polished upper and lower intake manifolds for the DOHCs? I was just curious because you don't offer them yet! And I would be highly interested pretty soon... also enlarged Throttle Bodies? Or a cheaper add-on might be knife edging and tapering the throttle body?

    *shrug*

I haven't added them to the store but I do them already. There are 2 ways to go about it, port matching and thats it (what most places do), and completely redoing the lower to reshape the runners and blend the plenum, which is what I recommend if you are wanting it done. Basic gasket match is only 100 bucks for both. Reshaping is 200 for both as it takes up quite a bit more time. Just the lower reshaped is 125 which is what I recommend over just a gasket match on both.

I don't do overboring on the stock plenum, as I am currently working on a custom plenum and TB setup. I don't like the stock plenum design and haven't found a place to give me a good enough price to bore out the stock TB either.

Custom plenum meaning... a whole replacement for the upper, lower, and TB? Or just the upper and TB?

I'm highly interested.... any guess on price? I'm going to be taking the plenum off soon to replace a leaky fuel injector... hence why I bumped this thread.

Whats the turnaround on the whole deal (reshaping/blending and gasket matching)?

About a week pending how busy I am with other work. I generally say 2 weeks.

Im working on just the upper/tb setup first, and possibly a lower/upper/tb later on. I don't know pricing nor time frame as I want to test different tube lengths and then diameters.

so is the intake your coming up with/have made run on early model 3.4 or only the 96+ models?

I havent talked to anyone yet about TIG welding, which I need in order to get the intakes welded up. I will be using 91-95 style lower first as its what I have and what the majority of people have. However, I am sure I know someone that would be willing to test out the 96/97 design when I get to it. In the end I want to have a setup that uses a custom lower but for the best results/cost ratio, the plenum will be the best. The diameter of the tubing makes a good difference in powerband, and I want to try 1 7/8" tube, 2", and 2.25" tubing for diameters, and the lower will matter quite a bit. Tuning will be another issue, as I cannot do 96-97. I think I know someone that can, so when I get done with those parts, I will look into it.

Oh,and no problem on the chip:P Ill pm you.
