  • Want to try custom crossovers?

I wish I could get a modified TGP style crossover that will work with my L body mounts :P I am tempted to send you my stock TGP crossover and have you test fit it modified on an L body. Might be enough people interested, maybe I not. :P

RE: Want to try custom crossovers?

Can you tell me what exactly it is in the way? I haven't owned an L body and I haven't seen doug online in a long long time now. If its just the crossover, im sure it wouldn't be too terribly hard. I dunno about demand for producing these things all the time, unless it could be used with a gen 3 motor swap as well which might be possible.

I can take a crap load of pics. Basically the mount is the killer, it is right where the TGP would have the Turbo sit stock.

The same part might work for a J-body too.

That would rock if I can make one that fits multiple platforms.

Yeah I am pretty sure the J's have the same issue. L body's use the J's strut tower brace, thats a clue on how similiar the engine bay and strut mount area are.

not all L bodies have this problem though, its only certain years with certain trans mounts...

I think you need to mock it up first on your car before you say you need anything, that 5 speed mount might make it clear for all I know.

Sure, but just eye balling it you can tell its NOT going to happen.

The trans mount on all of the older J and L cars are almost exactly the same, 5-speed or automatic. Maybe an inch different at the most

making a crossover is not hard, DIY, or have an exhaust shop do it.
