I have no idea with whatever you have planned on the manual automatic deal. You would be telling the computer its a manual to bypass any transmission settings.

      exactly, by-pass the solonoids.
sigpicHow to make High performance Emissions:
A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

Ben, My update, order will be late but better late then never:

2004 Alero 3400, port matched and polished to 220 grit LIM, i polished the whole damn runner with a custom made mandrel at 8".
It is an automatic trans, 4T60e, but ignore it, I'm by-passing all computer control to tranny anyway.

Full open exhaust, I've got 18" of pipe from the manifolds, thats it, so....
no emissions exist on this car, she is strictly track only and towed to and from drag strip.

*BTW, I took your advise and ran a catch can for my PCV.

Brakes are full manual, no power assist. In other words, no vacuum accessories what so ever.

FAFB converter, gives me around 3700 launch if it matters at all.

running 2004 stock injectors, no MAF. Car is running currently on unmodified 1995 ECU.

No air filter ram air setup in front bumper, I got an old MAF screen for a filter and thats it, and future plans for a 3500 UIM with 75mm TB.

160 deg thermostat, but fan is wired on seperte switch so it's no longer comp controlled.
fuel pump is aftermarket and on a seperate switch too and is no longer comp controlled.

(I made this really neat switch panel in my sunglass glovebox on the headliner of the car! 3 switches and a push-button start, I'll post pics!)

I want no speed limiters, no rev limiters, no emission fired SES lights, and please bump the timing up a bit for a 6500 RPM shift point.

I was reading about how to tune from Rob and in there it said to use datalog from a warmed up car. Except, I hit the starting line at 135 F, and after my pass I'm around 170 F. And thats as much as she runs. I push her through the staging lanes, and shut her off as soon as i hit the pits. So i told Rob this and he told me to tell you because it may effect your tuning.

rob's quote "the point of that is that by the time a car is at a normal temp, the ECU quits adding fuel and reducing spark due to it not being operating temp. if you're getting a chip from ben, notify him of this, that way he can remove/modify the warm-up stuff. obviusly since this is a track-only car it won't make sense to tune it like a daily driver..."

Anything else you need to know from me?

Do you accept CC's yet without going through paypal?

I'm ordering friday, thats why I ask.

Its all through paypal still. I am not sure with that stall, nor the operating temps. I can't tune based on mods, only datalogs. The chip is 89.99 for the tuned for stock version. Custom tuning with datalogs is more, and based on how much tuning it takes. You will needed a heated O2 sensor to get cold engine readings that are of value, and the closed loop settings changed. That is no problem but you should get a chip burner and aldl cable to make this feasible. I am not sending chips back and forth in the mail, as its just too much waiting to get anything done.

Does not work by itself, needs the CABL1 or CABL2 to work! USB-based ALDL converter box. Goes between your PC and a CABL1 or CABL2. Works great, unlike most USB/Serial converters. Goes straight from USB to ALDL. Does NOT work with a serial port. Compatible with all the popular programs in Windows (TunerPro, DataMaster, WinALDL). Will do 160-baud and 8192-baud communication. Not for use with the 'Moates' ECM852 software or other DOS-based programs. Self-powered via USB, and it has a built-in switch to select mode (up=10k, middle=open, down=short) for the A-B pins. Comes with a 6-ft USB cable, but requires either the CABL1 or CABL2 for connection to the car, depending on your application. The RJ-type-looking connector you see in the picture is for the CABL1 and CABL2, and it is not a standard RJ-type connector.

will this work with your chip?
FYI Money order being mailed tomorrow.

the chip won't determine that, but notice the first sentence: requires.........

and at $50, i would just go to aldlcable.com and get the usb aldl cable for $60, that way you don't need the cabl1. it comes up to $80 going through moates...

my link should have gone to the APU1 for $329.

                  Thats the emulator/burner/etc.. thingy.

So I can hook my laptop directly into the ALDL socket and re-flash the car without having to pull the ecu everytime.

Atleast thats what i think it is.

that is the purpose of the AutoProm...

but i went the cheaper route and just mounted the ECU upside down, that way when i swap chips, it takes 5 seconds....

I know I saw a write up on installing a heated O2 sensor in here somewhere, I can't find it. Also is your chip in the G1 adapter removeable? I think i need to put it into the APU1 inorder to do emulation.

it should come in a DIP socket, meaning it will be tough to pull out and put in, which is why i like the ZIF sockets, much less chance of bending/breaking pins...

and i'll search around for that guide for ya...
