Check the thickness of the cylinder walls to determine max overbore. Check the thickness of cylinder head decks or inside ports for porting. See how thin the manifolds are where I remove bumps and large amounts of casting mismatch. I can see how thick the metal is on my rear fender where its rusting out to determine where the rust can be cut out and new metal put in (if that happens). Its good for more than just aluminum and iron tooBen

By the placement and the angle of the probe, I'd say that the spark plug boss has something to do with the significant difference in thickness.-Brad-

You would probably also want to have coolant decently close to the exhaust port to keep it from melting, I would think.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.
