Do the EGR adapters in the Store for the digital EGRs have to be on vertical mounts, or will they work with a side mount as well?

  • #2
They are not designed for the side mount used on the 2000 and newer manifolds.

      Ok thanks.
I am having trouble finding a 3400 vertical in my area. I'll keep looking. Any particular year/model that was known for that?

96-99 minivans will have the EGR mount that works with the adapters.

I'm working on getting my machinist to provide you with a horizontal mount EGR along with the other verticals I sell you... I now have a 2005 motor sitting around so he will have an intake to work with.

Couldnt you just get the right egr valve you need? Would the sensor still work with a different year valve?

That is correct. The only adapter you need would be 00+ to 95 and older. The 96-99 connector is the same as 00+ so you just need the right EGR and tube to the exhaust manifold.

                      Why the 96 pipe?

In the instructions in the store and that came with the adapter, it specifically lists a '96 EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold to the intake. Why is the '96 needed instead of the old '95 I already have? I am having difficulty procuring a '96 pipe as we just had a snow storm here in Denver recently and cruising the yards is absolutely miserable. Can I use the '95 pipe even temporarily?
