  • 3.4 sfi s10 4x4

I was going to post pictures in the garage, but something is wrong with the link. I built this truck in '96 and started driving it in '97. It's got 331,000 miles on it now and still runs good. It's a 3.4 SFI from a '94 Camaro in a '84 S10 4X4 with a T5 transmission. I made a oil pan, exhaust Y pipe, radiator mount with electric fan and a air intake for it. I used the Camaro computer and wiring and modified it to fit the S10. I got 24 MPG when it was finished, but over the years that has dropped to around 20. It still runs much better than the 2.8 that was in the truck. I've got a lot of good miles out of it. I've never seen or heard of another one like it. I don't know why GM didn't install this in the S10 instead of the 4.3. I think this is a much better engine that the 4.3 and it fits in the S10 much better.

Can you right up how you did the wiring? I am wanting to do this exact SFI swap. I have the 3.4 already built running TBI but I want the SFI

I have a 95 engine/trans/computer but not sure what I wanna do with it. Might go in a 1990 firebird, which isn't the same as doing an 84 truck. Wiring for an 84 might not be as readily available as the 1990, at least from the different online shop manuals ive seen over the years. Anyway, you never know, maybe OP is still around.
