Hi one and all! I'm new, and looking to mod my stock 3.4 Firebird. I have some questions though. I will give you the rundown of my plan first.
The bird is the 3.4 v6. I plan on getting rebuild 3400 heads from a 2000+ Pontiac Grand Am on Ebay for about 350. Also going to buy upper and lower intake manifold for 100. And then the fuel rail with injectors for 60. Everything Im getting was from the 2000+ grand am. Here are my questions:
Can I use my old rocker arms, or do I need to buy ones made for the grand am?
Which push rods will I need?
Can the 95 Firebird throttle body bold straight on to the new upper intake manifold?
Will I need new exhaust headers?
Now here is my BIG question... I know that this setup will increase the compression ratio to something like 13.1:1 with my stock pistons. Obviously it cant run that high without knocking. But what if I install a water injection system? Can the motor handle that compression with enough octane boost from the water?
Please let me know if I'm ignorantly leaving out some important facts.
