  • Max,
You will need to go to 7 threads from the back for proper fit. If it gets tight while cranking it in, back the tap back out 1/2 turn. This will break the chip and make the tap easier to turn in.

      • So I got to about 7-8 threads left on the tap. That good enough for you guys?

              • Just bought a 1/2"-3/8" NPT reducer bushing.

I got brass as to reduce oxidation (or so I was told haha)

So it looks like I'll be able to use my old CTS (single wire, located in the drivers side head, used for dash guage) in that location as long as it's 3/8" NPT like we are thinking.

there IS one problem however. Just thinking back to my memory... I believe the OTHER bung located in the thermostat housing (stock 3500 CTS location) is 1/4", or at least it looks that small.... Which has me worried since I don't think any of my stock sensors are 1/4"... that's awfully small.

                • Sorry I'm an idiot its definitely 3/8 ". The 1/2" -3/8 reducer threaded in perfectly. Should i use teflon tape or some kind of rtv to seal the threads? Things are working out great. Im very happy

                  • i would be worried about the RTV/tape insulating the sensor and not allowing a good electrical reading... i think.

                          • Teflon tape or thread sealer will work fine. If you use Teflon tape, only wrap it two to three turns. Putting an excessive amount could cause a connection problem.

                              • I'm going to be porting out the upper 3400 intake to mate with my ported 59 mm throttle body but I have a few questions.

1: the stock throttle body gasket looks like it will also need to be modified for the ported tb. should I just cut it?

2: since I'm using a 3400 upper on a 3500 lower, should the upper intake runners be ported to match? Or are they the same diameter?

Thx guys. I will be grinding the numbers off the top soon and then it will be time for this.
