  • How to swap 3.4l and 4t45 to 3.8 4t65

    How hard is it? any info would be greatly appreciated. time and money is not an issue,just want it to go as smooth as possible

    3x00swap only deals with the 60-degree engines, of which the 3.8 is not.

      If you have to ask, there is a 99% chance that you can't pull it off.

      You will need to fabricate custom mounts and axles, spend hundreds of hours of playing with the wiring, tuning...... and more.

        good to know. is there atleast a better tranny i could slap on my 3.4? cause when it comes to power handling, the 4t45 kinda sucks

          You can drop in a 4T65 HD trans from a Supercharged 3800. I am currently working on the swap, which should be done by the end of summer.

            why did you make two threads for the same topic?
            1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

                  a 3.8 is definately not the horse power option man, that i know and i am not a dumb ass. its just that i have access to one real easy and im broke...lol aren't we all?

                    This is a 60 degree V6 site. Not alot of love here for outdated boat anchor engines.
                    3800s can make decent power.... but the uhhh..... how do i put it, BBQ issues? and horrible exhaust noise it makes instantly puts me off.

                      ya i have heard that from a few people now. im just weighing my options. the car is a daily driver.so when the tranny goes out i may as well build it. i just want the best possible set up. thats why im askin questions...

                        A few posts ago money was not an issue and now you are broke.

                        The 3800 is a Stupid Option.

                        Look at my times!! That is a 100% untouched stock '04 3500.
