Spark Plugs
I have got a 3400 thats been bored 0.020 over with 10.5 compression pistons, ported 3500 heads and lower manifold with 3400 upper manifold and a 65MM throttle body with the street/strip cam what would be the best plug to get? OEM spec or something cooler? I am also looking to upgrade the ignition coils to the Accels with some beefier wires

I have good experience with autolite 104's and you really dont need the coils And as stated before magnecor are the best wires you can buy And with that cam and head setup you are probably pretty close to 10.1 compression I would tune the PCM and run 91/94 octane A set of headers from Ben or elsewhere and you will have a fun ride

You might have to do some old school plug reading here. I would start with stock plugs and then get everything tuned just right. Then with a full hot engine do a full throttle run right to redline for at least 30 seconds. Shut the engine off right after cutting the throttle and come to a controlled stop. Do not forget that you will loose power steering and only have a few pumps of assisted braking. Doing this on a Dyno is much safer. When your stopped pull a plug or two and check it. If it is clean and golden brown your good. Any blistering or burning and your too hot.

i had a autolite electrode fall into a 3100 motor while driving once. destroyed a valve and seat.

Yea my brother in law had a plug come apart in his Fiero while at a club meet in the US. Luckily he was able to limp it home.

I would stick to the stock plug spec and gap it .050 instead of .060. Do not buy accel coils, they are a downgrade due to failures.

Taylor wires are nice i have a set of 8mm on my car now=)
Yeah dont waste money on coils because they suck.
Which ben already mentioned. I like ac/delco myself.

I always use the Accel super stock wires (cut to fit set) with stock coils and iridium plugs.. i think mine are at .060 still. Stay away from platinum plugs.

Anyone know of a V8 application that has the proper spark plug wire design to use in our application? I want to relocate my coil and ignition module assembly off the motor to a cooler location and need the added length. Did some searching on the Magnecor wires mentioned above as I'd like to use a set with MSD coils, they aren't cheap but I found a new set on ebay for a very good price if you have a 3.4 DOHC $99 or best offer.

You could make your own using the old plug boots and tips, open them up and re-crimp them. I'm assuming your needing them for a 3.4dohc? You can also go to a speed shop and they will have plug wire on a 300 ft roll
