knock sensor module. just want to be sure

alright, im to the point of wiring up my knock sensor for ms.

I attahced a pic of what Im using (somebody attached it to another thread and i stole/modfied it)

anyways, my question is where it lists an ohm rating does that mean I need a resistor of that rating installed?

That knock sensor looks just like the one from a LT1 1994 up PCM. From that wiring diagram it looks like there is a 100 ohm resistor in PCM between knock sensor and knock module. May not be good to try without it?

Whenever I do a conversion I try to use the entire system from like size motor, but knock sensors themselves are more tuned to frequency of engine bore size seems to be key to frequency needed to detect know. So using the knock sensor that came in car would be best choice. here's a list I found that may explain bore size to frequency of knock sensor.

In the mid '90's, a GM engineer sent me a list of GM sensors, showing part numbers, resonant frequencies, parrallel load resistance, and mounting style.

At the time, they were producing sensors in these frequencies: 5.2kHz, 6.0kHz, and 7.0kHz.

A chart from the SAE paper shows that the fundamental frequency of a
    75mm bore is about 7kHz
94mm bore is about 6.0 kHz
    110mm bore is about 5.2kHz.
The chart shows a fairly linear relationship of frequency to bore diameter.
The paper terms the GM sensors to be "broadband resonant", with "bandwidths approaching one thoundsand hertz".

its a module from a 3100 car acually. same part number as some 3400s take. I relised that I had already build the circut for a knock sensor just like that on the ms board lol. but anyways.. It gives false readings.. and has been disabled..

thanks for the info tho, thats good to know.
