OEM fuel pump good for 250HP?
I have a '99 3400 in an '90 Beretta GT. Currently running happily on the stock Beretta fuel pump, but I'm working on a mild turbo build with a goal of 250hp @ 6psi, and I have a feeling it won't keep up with that. I know I could just get a Walbro 255lph for $100, but I bet there's a fuel pump from another GM car or truck in the junkyard that would be perfect for this, and would only cost $30. Anybody know of a good donor? Grand Prix GTP? LT1 Camaro? TPI C/K1500? All of the above?

It will support 250HP easy assuming it's not worn out. I only had problems with my stock Z24 pump over 300 hp.
The pump from a syclone/typhoon is 255lph stock, that will support about anything you can do to it. You won't find one in the junk yard though. It's always best to buy fuel pumps new either way.

Never worth trying to save pennies on fuel delivery... on a turbo vehicle that will determine if the engine is going to he happy or knock and drop a rod.

Thanks for the advice. I found this article as well: http://www.berettaspeed.com/informat...icle.php?id=23
Looks like for $61.79 at RockAuto I can have a little more margin of safety than the original pump, and still save almost $40 over a Walbro 255
