Thread: 2002 3400 to 3500 swap

    2002 3400 to 3500 swap

my 2002 rendezvous head gaskets went and pulled it down....the condition of the engine had me considering a junk yard swap
a 3400 is going to run my around 1200 w/89k miles
    a 3500 06 motor with 16k miles will run me 650 dollars

nvm, I found the tce replaces the 7x sensor in the block....with that being the case I guess all thats left is finding which brackets I will need to use to swap the the engines out
seeing the 3500 comes in the rendezvous in 05-06 I would "hope" the mounting should be the same
    thanks

First off, welcome to the site! Secondly, I'm glad you found your initial answer. I read your post (while I was in a meeting ) but could respond at that time.

As for your second question, I would have to say you will most likely have to source the mounts from a 05+ Rendezvous, as the 3400 mounts will be different. Here is a good thread on a 3500 swap, which may help in seeing potential things you will have to consider -> http://60degreev6.com/forum/showthre...-few-questions . Not all will be necessary, as that swap is way different, but some of the basics are still covered.

Oh yeah, and my daily driver is also a 02 Rendezvous. Replaced the head gaskets on it just over a year ago. There is a thread on here about it in the Pushrod Maintenance section somewhere...

    Hot rodding a Rendezvous, different.

Did not know they made that thing all the way through 2006.

Sounds like you got a good motor too. 16k miles ought to be pretty clean inside.
