Thread: Best Turbo Option

    Best Turbo Option

I decided to turbo my lq1 instead of supercharging it. Since a lot of people are right about getting more power out of turbocharging it since the engine is high revving. I might supercharge later down the road too. So I was wondering what would be the best turbo choice for a lq1 engine?

i like my 65mm gt4088 on my 3500. I'd say something between 62 and 65mm... if you have $ get a bearing turbo, if not go cheap.

So what's the difference between a bearing turbo and other types of turbos? I don't know much about mechanics but I'm learning.

Ball bearing turbo's will spool faster then journal bearing turbo's with the same sized wheels.

If you go Garrett, the GT35R and GT40R would work well depending on your power levels. I have an older 67mm DBB turbo waiting for mine.
