highway MPG after wot-tech chip install
This was in a 94 5 speed cavalier z24 stock, last fall new plugs, wires
Before I installed the best mpg numbers I had hit was 33mpg, nearly 100% highway at 60mph, over ~120miles. Normally 27-30 mpg
I travel to and from school and home on the weekends so I make these length trips often. So I was excited to see how the chip would affect economy.
After a trip to visit my girlfriend and going 138 miles I filled up once there and it took 3.9 gallons (rounded up). that equates to 35.38 mpg I never went faster than 65mph on the way there, half 65 other 60mph
On the return trip, and then after going to work in town and returning I traveled 153 miles and the fill up took 4.137 gal. = 36.98 mpg never over 75mph on way back, cruised half 60 and other half ~72mph or so
This is mostly over flat ground in indiana and ohio, but I can confidently say my money was well spent. The only variable that may skew the results is that now it is a bit warmer 60s-70s. Than my earlier trips before the chip (40's). Also I did just change the oil before the 'after' trips. I may have to remove it and get some more results to just ease my curiosity.

That's pretty good for a 3.1, I'd be more than happy with those numbers.

Oh and to update I submitted this review to wot-tech after moving out west to Oklahoma.
"On my bone stock (except chip) 94' 3.1 5spd cavalier I managed to get 33.5mpg average after multiple fillups on my way out west, 900 mile trip. This was with the AC on the whole time, trunk full, 3 people and a big dog and at a gps indicated 70mph. The engine does seem to run smoother under acceleration, although I will admit I can't tell of a power change. Well worth the money because the overall increase in efficiency of the engine there is a noticeable increase in mpg. Don't expect similar results unless plugs and wires and in good shape too."
Not sure why there are only 3 stars on my review though, I thought I clicked 5 lol
