    Extreme Camaro hybrid build plus...

    I have been holding out on posting this build that's lasted a year so far, but come on inside and check it out!

    When I first started out at the machine shop, porting etc, I had a guy who got in on a group buy for a 3500 top end for his Camaro. Well, it didn't stop there needless to say.

    Started with this...

    Bought a 3500 to pirate the parts from


    Polished the valve covers...


    Then the manifold (well not complete yet, but you get the idea lol)




    But the customer wants the best of everything, so new parts showed up. Yellow springs, titanium retainers, ls1 seats, Viton seals, at this time it was SI valves (later changed them for Manley after hearing the heads were popping off the SI's)...


    Porting!




    Who need a small TB? One of our adapters and the 65mm upgrade

    So after some searching locally, he realized he didn't want to have anyone but us do the install, so he shipped us the car!

    So, not only did we get the car, it was chock FULL of parts he had been buying over a year or so...

    First thing on the aganda was to get a baseline dyno session. The motor has 13k miles on it, fresh crate from GM...

    Next was to start getting things assembled...

    Powdercoated the late model spindles that work for the big brake setup...








    Than a package came to my door! This is a 500hp Performabuilt 4l60 and 2800 stall..

    Then it was time to start getting dirty.

    Rear was pulled for Por-15/rebuild...




    Walbro time


    Rear back in with panhard relocation, LCA relocation, tubular everything...

    Grand national aluminum drums powdercoated and were modified to fit...

    Next was the ECM swap for tuning the originally OBD1.5 car...









    and it runs! Also got the Magnaflow 3" stainless exhaust in...

    Now that we knew the ECM would control the stock motor, time to make some changes

    Got dirty again...
