should talk to EFIconnection.com about making a turn key harness, and as far as the lsx being a turn key harness, that was a fluke by GM, if you pull the whole harness with PCM, you only have to hook up 4 wires to make it run on the floor. i'm sure you could do the same with the vvt, as the harness looks very simple and tidy under the hood, and the pcm is there too

    Its runs!!!>>>Aint No 60* Sound Like Mehttp://youtu.be/YKEmNwa141U

I have an LQ1 and have always found it ridiculous that some engines use RUBBER belts to control timing, and if that RUBBER belt goes bad than isnt the engine toast?

not necessarily, but it certainly isn't good for it.

You must have missed the massive fiber re-enforcement running through it. Rubber accessory belt's have been doing fine for years, along with supercharger belts. Rubber belts have less rotating mass than a chain and run cooler.

Depends on whether the engine is interference. If it is, then yes, bad things happen when a timing belt breaks.

Most engines are, most people don't realize that very few engines are non interference.

88 Subaru GL station wagon 4WD sitting in my driveway has a broken timing belt. It's a non-interference engine. It's rusted out but if someone wants it to put a timing belt on it (have the belts, service manual, etc) then they can have it for cheap... Great for the snow... Needs a TPS or cleaned TPS so it will kick down every time though. That's the only code. Time the dist and valves and it's good to go... I just don't want to bother with it... LOL...

I know this thread is a bit dated, but I am among those who would LOVE to see GM start selling the 3.6 LLTs as crates...I would love to put that 300 hp lightweight, far back sitting v6 into my camaro....10 lbs to 1 hp before even touching it.....
