Ok, so I finally managed to go to the old house and drag my old (and very rusty ) 3100 out of the basement and up the hill, and load it onto a trailer. I also got it up on the stand this evening, so I can finally start messing around with some mock-ups. We'll see how it goes. Don't really have the $$ right now to spend on the Mustang, so might as well do some sort of car work.
I hope to be able to start putting together some articles as well, since I have an engine on a stand and will be able to take pictures, document steps, etc, and not worry about having to rush to get it back together so I can drive it.
only problem is that there a bit undersized for a 3.4/3.5 L engine, as they claim there made for .5l-3l engine diplacements
yes but if you use their finding the M62 is undersized but our motors, but I thought it did pretty damn good.....
Which is 62 cu in or 1.01599797 l per revolution. 76 cu liters per revolution is the largest charger they have listed. In comparison the M90 is 90 cu in or 1.47483576 cu l per revolution.
On a side note my whipple is 1.6 cu l per revolution with a case size smaller than an M62......
If everything works out right, I should have a rough 3D CAD model of a lower intake this evening. From there, I can start playing around in CAD some more to develop a new lower intake.
I have casting capabilities - I would love to see a nice S/C LIM setup for a 3x00 - it would be a fairly complex part to cast and machine but that might get it compact enough to fit with minor mods to the hood
I wish I had room for an extra motor to do mockups on
