As I stated in my response on B'Net, the only issue with the 3t40 is #1 pipe, and the hump in the trans.

I didn't get a pic before mine went on, sorry, but if you can make them fit the 3t40 they will fit the other combinations as well.

Fan isn't a huge issue even on the early ones. I just cut off one of the 4 spokes and it's still plenty strong enough.

The main reason the S&S have to be reworked for L-bodies as nothing to do with the front header, but everything to do with the rear header. Therefore, this may not work with many other body styles. The late model N-bodies have the header going over the steering rack, whereas with the L-body, it must go under the steering rack. So depending on the various body styles, the rear header will probably be different for each body, as well as between years.

It would be cool to see these fit 1st gen and 1.5 gen W-Bodys without modification or with minor modification compared to the S&S headers. Make them a MUCH better choice for us W-Body owners.

J and N body (pre 99) should fit with these though. Those cars share a lot of stuff.

Once you get the angle right on the rear header, to get it to fit the 3t40 you have to slightly ding the #1 tube so that it will clear the speedometer drive housing.

I'd get a set if they would fit a 99' Alero and S&S doesn't have a set. I sent them a e-mail but haven't gotten a response yet. Probably can't afford a set until Nov 7th anyway so no hurry.
