    Cylinder Heads

Flowbench data will be here soon.

The 96 heads have smaller combustion chambers, which is why the 96+ motors are rated for higher compression. The 96 pistons have a .030" dome in the middle, but the valve relief cuts are wider so the pistons are not the answer for raising the compression.

If you plan on having your heads decked and are afraid of the valves hitting the pistons (interference motor) if the belt breaks, have no worries. you can safely deck the heads .012 to get a flat surface. The instances of bent valves after the belt breaks normally involve high RPM.
