This is the nicest car I've ever owned and one of the most elegant handling cars I've ever driven. My children love her because they can both sit next to me on the big bench seat and share the driver's view when we go on long trips and they never get motion sick, even in the mountains. She's a pretty car with graceful lines, strong as a horse, smooth as silk and as quiet as a spring breeze, but she emits a satisfying, chesty growl when she 'makes her moves'. We've named her Henrietta after my strong, brave New Hampshire great-grandmother. I have said that I will never sell Henrietta, and I almost believe that this is true.
These pictures show Henrietta the way I found her, at a dealership in Agawam Massachusetts in early March, 2009. I paid $3800.00 for her and I still think I got a bargain. Take a look at the photos and see if you agree! Since then, I have repaired the cracks in her front facia so you'd never know they were there. Also flushed interiors of doors with a rust inhibitor and filled and repainted miscellaneous scratches and dents. Now she looks like she just left the show-room, and I intend to keep her that way. I have plans to carve maple door and dash trim for her interior and my ten-year-old son and I are in the market for a used LG8 engine to overhaul, so we'll be ready to swap engines when she reaches the 250,000 mile mark. Right now she's at 87,000 and she'll be like new as soon as we install the fresh Monroe Sensa-track struts that are now sitting in their boxes in my home office. |
