| I've had this car since October of 1979. I'm the 3rd owner. Rebuilt the original engine back in 1982. I did rust repair and paint starting in the 1987 and finished in 1990. The original 4 cylinder was very slow so, starting in 2000, I began the search for a new engine and settled on the GEN 2 3.1 FWD V6. I later upgraded to the GEN 3 cylinder heads w/LS6 valve springs and both upper & lower intake manifolds. The stock cam has been reground by Delta Camshaft (to 260 duration, 0.469" lift with 1.6 roller fulcrum rockers, and 112 LSA.) GM OBD1 "MPFI" multi-point fuel injection system. GM GEN 3 injectors. Jeep 4.0 throttle body (60 mm). Volkswagen submersible fuel pump. GM DIS. It weighs 2021 lbs. with a 1/2 tank of gas. The car is quite fast now...totally transformed from the original and is really a fun car to drive. |
