Pfft.. there are things in the works by other members that will result in much higher numbers than the 3800 guys. I won't say names but i know of one guy that was talking about 1000+ HP from a 3500...

I saw a site awhile back that used a 2.8 Bowtie and alot of coustom work with twin turbos to make 1200! Horsepower, I have to dig up the site again. My car has only 149 horsepower.

If you're ever in Albuquerque NM visit the Unser Racing Museum. They have a 2.5ltr 60Degree with what looks like GenII heads, a stock iron block and twin turbos on display that made 700+ hp for one of their Indy series cars. It is proudly displayed on a stand in the museums engine section along with the V8 cosworth headed indy engines. REALLY COOL!

The 3800 is very VERY overrated. Their are several 60*v6's that can easily put a highly modded 3800 in its place.

The only reason everyone thinks the 3800 is so fast is because their are more of them that are fast and the only reason for that is because their are more parts that are more easily available.
