A/C woes on cutlass

My A/C decided not to work after 20 years of service.
It is still original with R-12 refrigerant and not leaking with about 35 psi on the low side.
I have the motor running and set on the max setting for A/C and all i get is warm air and the compressor cycling on and off. Also I get alot of hissing noise like when you change the climate control to defog or heat.

I have jumped the compressor to make it run continuously and it does not blow cold air.

any clues?

have you checked the cable behind the hot/cold lever? a little screw holding the cable fell out of mine and it blew hot constantly, i searched for months before i found that the little screw fell out so the cable wasnt moving from hot. yours may not be a screw but thats the first place i would check if its full of refrigerant and still blowing hot

i got this push buttons for the climate controls. I did take out the under parts where the glove box is and found a bunch of vacuum hoses controlling some flaps i guess.
how do i figure this out?
