It also doesn't happen on other VB forums, only this one.

Have either of you tried it on another vbulletin-powered forum to see if you get the same results? I'd be interested in that...

EDIT: I guess that's my answer. Umm... take a look in your User CP > Edit Options > Misc Options (all the way at the bottom). What is your message editor interface set to? Try changing it to a different type and see if it changes anything.

What is the version for the other vB forums you've tried?

Mine was set to the WYSIWYG editor by default, and that is apparently what is having the issue. I set it back to Advanced and it works fine now.

The other VB forum version is 3.6.8

Yeah, I've run into issues with the WYSIWYG editor before. Its an AJAX issue. Hmm... just like the CR Calulator problem I am trying to solve for FireFox users. You'd think FF wouldn't have any issues with AJAX, but apparently it does.

I think it's more that the AJAX is hacked up to work with IE, instead of following the standards that FF understands. Just like with CSS files, most sites have to use their regular CSS then have a browser detect to detect IE and serve them a special hacked CSS file that works correctly with IE.

IE8 is supposed to follow the standards however, so we shouldn't have this issue then.
