CR Calculator - Future Options

Been doing some thinking on the CR calculator, as people have brought up some questions about it. Would it be useful for people to have a pop-up or rollover (or something) that would bring up all of the engines stock values when inserting your own values into the calculator? This would mainly be useful for hybrid setups, so you don't have to load up the default values multiple times to figure out what pieces to mix and match. All the defaults would be right there essentially.

I've also thought about having a What's This button to explain what each value is in a more detailed explanation.

Any other things people might find useful for the calculator?

Yeah! That all sounds like a great idea Brad! I know quite a bit about all of that, but not everything. Is there a way in all the formulas to figure max lift with certain compression so we may find when the valves will contact the pistons? BTW, the calc works in my FF now.

You should always check with your motor first, but .560 lift with a 106 ICL using 3.4 DOHC pistons (0.0 deck height with .040 dome in the middle) had plenty of room before valve contact. If you are talking about with the chain breaking, then thats just asking for problems.

You would need to know the valve angle and its position in the chamber from the deck surface, and the piston shape/depth.

Ill help with descriptions for the "whats this".

Bore: What listening to your questions do
Stroke: What porn is good for
Head Gasket Bore: Its whats for dinner
Head Gasket Compressed Thickness: when you fold it in pieces, then stand on for 1 hour.
Combustion Chamber Volume: How loud your motor is
Piston Dome Volume: from 100 meters away.
Piston Deck Clearance: Sale
Final Displacement: Kinda like the final 4, without all the basketball stuff.
Calculated Compression Ratio: What you came here for. geez.

There is an example. Let me know if you need any more taken care of

I haven't worked it into the calculator yet, but here is what I am looking at having. Comments are welcome.

Yeah, I will include that as well. That will be basically static information, whereas the values are being pulled from the database. So as the database gets updated, the tool tips get updated as well without having to do any recoding. I was mainly just trying to verify that the pulling from the database was working properly. Next, I will start to implement that into the calculator, and once the value tooltips are are finished and working, I will take on putting together good descriptions of the various fields.

Got everything right in front of you to do comparisons of cc's. Great idea! Love it!

Makes it easier to see what needs to be added as well. 4.5cc is the 91-95 DOHC piston cc as best as chris and I got years ago.
