I think that may be true on the 00+ cars. The 95-99 seems to operate the same way as the 93-94 2nd gen's. My fuel level works, without the PCM there. And for the 2.2 at least, according to the wiring diagrams, the tach pics up right off the ICM. (2.4 I think goes through the PCM first).

I got the fully assembled MS1 2.2 with spark and knock circuits for $245 from KingEFI (came with software and tuning cable). The only thing is I will have to fab a selenoid to control idle because the MS1 does not support a stepper motor IAC.

would be best to use a simple fast idle valve (on/off only). its simple and effective.

91z24: did you get a megastim with it??? you do need it to build the megasquirt.

That's what I plan on doing, aren't you the same Sharkey from the MS forums?

No I haven't gotten the stimulator yet i'm planning on getting it sometime this week. I wont be able to get to building the MS-II until next weekend anyway.

ForcedFirebird: I just went ahead and got the MS-II v3.0 because it has the stepper IAC driver, and a few more options available. Plus it is the newest so it will be the one getting updated the most.

Mine is a time/money issue. With four children, a dog, and a construction company time has to be weighed like cash ;p. I still will get MS2 but I also needed the laptop and wideband o2 for this purchase. With my budget, I still need posi and a few other small items to get the car where I want it to be.
