I will try my best to help you out. I live in Utah so I am not very close.

What version code are you running? (MSnS-E or MS-II)

What engine are you running it with?

I am running a 3400 with DIS ignition and a turbo on MS-II. I would be willing to give you my current tune if you want to help your get started. The origional tune came from my 2.8 that was in my car before I swaped engines and it fired up on the first try, so just having a general tune can be helpfull.

Do you have a wide band o2? If not I suggest getting one soon!!

You can also email me if you want @ marq84004@yahoo.com

i have it straight now. the msII is on my 3.4 dohc running the 91-93 OBD1 MAP setup.

i am running msII with the 2.6 code and for some reason the ini file was very hard to find.

i have estabolished a rough tune for now and yes i would like your file to compare with. i currently have a wideband. are you running 2.6 code by any chance?

right now it is hooked up as a FMU. it has it's own signal from a wideband, it's own cts and it's own iat. it has also taken over the injectors. it is piggybacking off of the tach and the tps.

i do plan on going full standalone but since this is my 1st install i wanted to do it in baby steps to ease troubleshooting and tuning.

but the problem was in the tps that i was having. i figure i will post it incase some1 else has this problem at some point.

as soon you hooked up the ms to the tps it would work fine but after you cut the car off and restarted the idle would raise waaay up to almost 2500 and even when u disconnected the ms it would stay in effect until you reset the ecu.

the problem was the idle screw and the tps voltage at 0% throttle. the screw was too far open and for some reason the ecu noticed the tps was out of calibration when the ms was hooked up where it would otherwise just compensate(perhaps the xtra current draw maybe?? i don't know, i am just glad it works CORRECTLY). the voltage at 0% throttle was 0.6v, when i started turning down the screw and it hit about 0.5-0.49x the ecu was like "ok you win, i'll do what you want" yay.

but i appreciate the reply. perhaps all the peeps runig ms should all get together and share insights/tuning/ideas and shit. just a thought.

p.s. the iac is next

Right now I am runnging code v2.36. v2.6x is still in beta testing and I wanted to get my car running good on "known" good code before I started playing around. I am going to switch to v2.6x very soon now that my car is running how I want it to.

If you want to switch to the most recent relaese of code go here
http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/code.htm

When you hook your tps in parallel with the stock computer you will get different readings. Do you have a auto trans? If I were you I would start looking into letting MS control everything. When I first did my swap I made it so i could either hook up the MS or my stock ECU.

One of my things I recnetly discovered while tuning was under settings->injector control, somehow my injections/cycle was set to 6. This made the car want to idle at a very right AFR and I didnt have much resolution on my top end. After I go that fixed (changed it to 2) the car was behaving much better. The other thing I discovered is when you are doing initial tuning you should go under settings->ego control and change control authority+- (%) to zero. This will disable the feed back from the o2 sensor in closed loop. You should then get a budy and manually set up your VE table while he drives. After that is setup try to get the AFR table to match the AFR you tuned the car to run at, at that rpm and load. After you feel the car is running good you can reenable the ego control.

I will post more info, I have to go to class right now

MS will work with an older automatic trans. It will soon be able to control and electronic trans, but the hardware/software is still in beta testing.

dohcfriend, my tune should work quite well on your setup, it will just want to be very rich in the boosted areas of the table. If you want to use my tune you should redo the rpm-map(kpa) settings in your timing table and ve table. I would try loading my code and see how your car runs (make sure you set it up for your injector size). You can keep alot of the settings I have set up but you will have to change several to make them work on your car.

1. you need to change the req_fuel. You need to set the values to reflect the size of your injectors.

2. after you have played around and my or your tune works you need to setup the parameters for your ve_table and spark_advance table (when you start controling spark). If you go to tables->VE table it should open a large matrix window with a x-axis(RPM) and a y-axis(map load KPa). You can change the values of both the axies and should make them so that no matter what your engine values are they stay inside your range you have setup. On my tune I have them set to go from like 500rpm's to 6800rpm, and 10KPa to 160KPa. Becuse you are N/A you should change the max load to 100KPa and you could also probably bump up the rpm a bit because you can rev higher than I can.

Good luck and let me know how it works out.

MSII can actually control the lockup in an early electronic trans without much effort(TH-125C, 350C, etc.) I'm running it sucessfully in my 84 GMC 1/2-ton.

On a side note, I don't suppose you'd mind sharing the spark map for your turbo'd 3400?

Not at all, you should be able to get it off the file I posted up earlier in the thread. If you cant get it from there let me know and I will email it to you.
