SES Light Wont Flash When Jumped?
I was trying to check my 1994 z34 lumina 3.4l for codes but I cant get the service engine soon light to flash? I have a small gm jumper scanner for checking codes and abs but it is really a paperclip in a fancy case. When that didnt work I tried a real paperclip still noting then I hooked up my volt meter to the A and B terminals on the 12 pin connecter and no voltage? The light will stay lit but wont flash with the terminals jumper and the ignition on, if I remove the paperclip and start the car the light goes off just like it should. I was told on another forum that the car is OBD 1.5 is this true? Here is a picture of my connector I just went and checked and I have wires at terminals A ,B ,and M
If I need a scanner does anyone know of a scanner that will work? Model ,Part number?

Yes, your car is OBD1.5. And the jumpering method for triggering the SES light was removed in 94, so you can not retrieve codes this way. A scanner is required.

Hmmm, I thought the OBD1.5 cars used an OBD2 connector?

I think it depends on the year of OBD1.5, lol... I know my old 94 had an OBD1 connector, but I think the 95s have the OBD2 connector. Just one more reason why the OBD1.5 is such a bastardized setup.

LOL, that might be, it may also depend on body line as well it seems, since the '94 F-bodies used an OBD2 connector. I try and stay away from OBD1.5 anyway.
