Running really rich?

I did a complete 3400sfi swap into my '88 Pontiac 6000. Funny thing is, is that the 3400 runs using the 2.8l computer. One problem is that it runs excessively rich, my eyes burn just walking behind the car and i was wondering if something can be tuned or flashed to make it run a little leaner or run properly?

the 3400 will run seriously lean on the 2.8 tune and 2.8 injectors.. just an FYI

It'll also run like you describe with the 2.8 tune and 3400 injectors, If you can give me the 4 letter code on the memcal in your ECM i might be able to burn you a propper chip for a small fee.

Either swap in your 2.8/3.1 (MPFI) injectors for the time being or swap in a modified chip asap.
