OBDI would not work with your transmission so OBDII would be the best bet.

IsaacHayes, is this an option for our OBD1.5?

For other 94-95 engines just look to see if it's under vehicles supported on the TunerCAT page and purchace that particular definition file. Check to make sure it uses the 27X512 prom too. (It will say it to the right of the definition file)

Then start tuning. (You have to figure out what your doing first however)

Now if you want to tune on the fly, (Change parameters while you are driving), you can do that as well.

Instead of a chip burner, you'll need an Ostrich Emulator:
http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...roducts_id=169

And TunerCAT RT Tuner.

You'll still need the chip adapter first mentioned, a stock bin somehow (I may be able to get a hold of one but I think gmtuners has them somewhere on thier web site), and the correct definition file.

That talks of removable PROM based, which our ECM's are not. They are flash based. You don't use a chip burner with ours. It would be flashed through the ALDL cable like OBD2.

TunerCat supports $1FA which is 94-95 L82 3100 removable PROM ECM found only in the A bodies with the funky TB with MAF built in, and no MAP! You could use a normal MAF 96+ and swap all that stuff over from the A body possibly, but probably OBD2 swap would be easier with a 96 car of your model.

You should try emailing tunercat and seeing if they could add our ECM support to WinFlash, or make a version of it for our ECM.
http://tunercat.com/winflash_desc/winflash_desc.html
Winflash is made for the LT1 engines 94-95 which have a FLASH based ECM like ours. That is the only product they have that is closest to working with our ECM.

EDIT: the lastest TUNER software they offer has the WINFLASH stuff built in if you use the $EE definition...

I gave up hope a long time ago and performed a OBDII swap on my daily driver... I'm glad I did. I never would have turned a 14.8 with my hybrid motor if I didnt. And now I already own everything to tune the pink project.

It takes the place of the chip that you reprogram in your MEMCAL. The reason behind it is so you don't have to pull out the MEMCAL to write new information to the chip all the time, and you can write the new info to the Ostrich while the car is running.

Ah, so in my retard terms, it's kind of like using one of those hypertech programmable tuners but much more efficient, right?

Does playing around with this system on an OBD 1.5 take a lot of mechanical/computer skill or is this something that even myself could read up on and start messing with?

OBD1.5 doesn't use a chip, its flash based and no one supports it.

I think you have the a-body with the weird TB/MAF setup on your 3100 and you have a removeable chip. www.tunercat.com supports your ecm.

Yeah, it's that odd-ball one Isaac. One of the reasons that I haven't tried to tackle the 3400 upper and lower intake yet. I may just decide to buy them and take them to my mechanics and say "here, put these on." I know it would cost more, but I'm afraid to F---something up. If I leaved closer, I would probably just ask someone that Ben knows to put them on and have it tuned, but alas, I live in PA.

Thanks again, IsaacHayes. Have you had an experience with them yourself?
