trans prob on the achieva

since im not skilled on these transmissions im in need of some help from those who have dealt with them. its a 4t60e. on the way back home from work i let the car get up to speed pretty good in 2nd (around 4k rpm) then it kinda hessitated for about 2 seconds, then it went BOOM and shifted into third. it felt like something just smacked the floorboard and shook the whole car. i cant remember what the code was before all this happened, but it had something to do with the switch right where the shifter cable attaches to the transmission. gear select switch maybe? but i wouldnt think that would cause it to do that. or could it? the car still drives fine and shifts fine since that happened. havent tried it again to see if it still does it cuz its my daily driver lol. thanks.

Perhaps the switch is loose/failing and made it go into neutral and then back into gear?

it might have, i have no clue. all it said was BOOM and felt like the whole car was gonna blow up lol. it kinda reminded me of when a rearend explodes on rwd vehicles and then your driveshaft comes up and hits the floorboard real hard. i'll have my buddy look at it tomorrow to see what he thinks since he knows more about them than i do. any more ideas are welcome.

well it ended up being idiot error on my part lol. we took it out today and let it go up to 4k in all 4 gears and didnt have one bit of trouble. but we tried it to 4k up to 3rd gear and i let out of it a little and it did the BOOM thing again. he said there was just too much pressure running through it and it caused it to do that. i feel like a idiot lmao.
