the tires will squeel around corners at lower speeds.. at higher speeds you'll lose traction turning.. even worse in the rain/snow.

LSD is the way to go if you drive it on the street...

just please please please if your going to go solid use a spool or mini spool

id recomend something like a quafe transmition, not so much limited slip, most of the times the clutches need to be replace frequently if you are racing with a limited slip...

Spools are basically a solid piece of steel that replaces a diff. They're generally not recommended for anything outside of dragracing. They also add a huge amount of steering effort on a FWD car and a lot more treadwear.

You should not lock a front wheel drive diff... end of story, unless you trailer the car to the track.

If you drive it buy an EP LSD, it will make driving possible and also improve traction.

The problem being, afaik they dont make a spool for a fwd style diff. you could prob modify a mini spool to work, but yah you would be breaking the output shafts right a left on the right and left, lol, due to all the added pressure and your tire trying to force its way faster than the inside tire. you could just weld the gears in the diff old school style, but thats not recommended either

Exactly. People wouldn't even weld the front in a 4X4 you can't turn worth shit. If you had any scrub radius in your steering system you would never be able to turn the wheel at all unless you were moving. And even when you were turning you would vastly increase the turning radius of the car making it very un practical. Then add in all the parts wear and breakage and you could easily pay for a pair of slicks for the track or a LSD.

Then call or e-mail Jeff at Engineered Performance, your looking at 600+ or so for a LSD for a 4T60E setup($599 LSD cost unless winter sale of $499, not sure if he does that anymore, then 150+ for output shaft) the same style I'm using, machined steel plates and modified output shaft to resemble 4t65e style, No removable clip, it's like the axle clips that hold it in the diff making removal easy.
